Hello and welcome back!
Here is what we have been up to this week...
Our summer novel, The Giant's Necklace, has continued to e the source of our English work and has led to producing some terrific writing - we became newspaper reporters and wrote about the night of Cherry's disappearance and we did a story board to summarise the story. Your children have loved this book and are enjoying even more our new class novel, Letters from the Lighthouse.
In Maths, we have been rounding numbers - in some cases up to 10 million! We are really lucky, on a Friday, to do our maths on the chrome books on a new programme to us this year. It means we can take on new challenges at the click of a button which is just fab!
We carried out an experiment in Science to see how shadows change size. This involved working in small groups, measuring and recording information, predicting results and concluding our investigation - job well done!
In topic, we have been studying WW2 and looking at which countries were involved, in particular, which were allies and which were axis. The children are really enjoying this topic.
Have a great weekend and we will see you on Monday.
Love from
Mrs Parry and Mrs Melling xx
