Friday 14th September 2018

Hello,

Welcome to Year 1W's class blog! In Year 1W we have myself, Miss Lodge, the class teacher and Ms Rose and Mrs Mason working to support the children.  We are a friendly bunch so if ever you need anything please feel free to pop in for a chat.

This week the children have been settling back into the school routine.  Our topic for this term is 'All About Me.' We will be learning all about our local area, discussing ourselves and our families, learning about different materials in science and in Art, sketching ourselves.

This week:

In Maths we have been showing off what we already know to our new teachers.  We have been counting by moving objects and crossing out pictures.

In English, we have been reading the story 'The Gruffalo.' We have been retelling the story and sequencing the pictures into order.

In Science, we have been exploring a range of different materials and using scientific vocabulary to describe them.

In topic, we have been learning how to sketch our eyes, nose and lips, using feathery sketch strokes.

Our star of the week this week goes to Oliver for giving 100% in all he does and being a role model in class.
