Wow, what an amazing week it’s been here in Year 4.

In Maths, we did a little revision.  We looked at the work we have covered so far this term -concepts like place value, addition and subtraction, perimeter and multiplication and division.  On Thursday we did an assessment -and, yes you guessed it -we were great!  We know, we know…we’re just too good.

In English, we have been looking at conjunctions.  In particular, subordinating conjunctions -words like if, when, although and because.  When we use these we often make…well, let’s tell you a joke first.

What do you call Santa Claus’ helpers in English?

Subordinating Clauses…get it?

Often conjunctions help us make -subordinating conjunctions.  So things like-

When we got to Liverpool on Wednesday, there was a little light rain.

If we took money with us, we were allowed to spend it in the gift shop.

Although we have been learning about The Beatles, the trip was still so informative.

Because it is so close to Christmas, Liverpool had lots of festive lights up.

You can see the subordinating conjunction, and the subordinating clause is underlined.  Cool, huh?

We’d like to thank all our parents and grandparents who came along on Tuesday to take a look at our work and chat to our teachers.  Once again, it was a great turn-out, and we’d like to say thank you.  So, thank you.

The highlight of the week however had to be our trip to The Beatles Museum.  What better way to show you what a  great day we had but that to show you through the medium of mime…or, maybe through pictures would be better.  Take  a look at our video below.
