Friday 15th October

Wow, another busy week in Y6W! We have been working so hard and learned lots!

We have finished Hetty Feather and are delighted that Hetty finally had a happy ending after finding her real mother!  Our new novel is called Street Child and it follows the difficult life of a young boy called Jim during the Victorian era.

We have also written a formal persuasive letter, encouraging food companies to use sustainable palm oil in the products. Lots of very grown-up writing skills on display!

In Art we looked at the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and designed our own stained glass window in his very distinctive style.

Our certificate winner this week was chosen for his determination and focus when learning to read and write in his second language English and for being a friendly, cheerful and well-mannered pupil. A delight to teach!
