Friday 16th February

Well we've reached half term at last. Doesn't it seem like a long stretch?

In English this week we have worked on our re-telling of Before Sunrise. Over three days, the children drafted, proofed and improved the sections of the story, writing up their final versions at the end of each day until the end product was quality narrative.

In maths the children have all undertaken a full mock SAT this week. Whilst there are a few areas we have yet to cover, this has highlighted group and individual strengths and weaknesses and will allow us to see the areas that require work, though there is much to be enthused about.

In topic we have looked at the plight of Victorian chimney sweeps and used them as the inspiration for some creative poetry work - COUGH! COUGH! SPLUTTER! Did you know if the young sweeps were not working fast enough, the masters would stick pins in them. Ouch!

Anyway, have a great half term.
