Welcome back to Year 4 blog.

In English this week, we have been building on our work from previous weeks around `Voices’.  Who is talking?  What they are saying?  How we know this?  On Monday, we watched an animation called Road’s End.  Throughout, we focused on the driver of the car and the subtle things that he did, said and how he said them.  These things can tell you a lot about how the character is feeling or what they are thinking.  Take a look at the animation below.

We made lots of notes about the character -and inferred how he must be feeling.  Then on Tuesday and Wednesday we wrote an account of the car journey focusing on the details that we had found in the animation.  Take a look at some of our work.

Awaiting our work -we'll post soon.

In Maths, we have moved onto reflective symmetry.  A shape is symmetrical if both sides are the same when a mittor line is drawn.  Take a look at these shapes that have refective symmetry.

Now, can you find the line of symmetry in these shapes?
Why not try out these symmetry activities on the TopMarks website.  Click our link here

In Science, we have been looking `High Five’.  These are the 5 vertebrate groups.  A vertebrate is an animal that has a spine or backbone.  These five groups are called mammals, birds, fish, reptiles and amphibians.  Can you identify the definition for each group?  Then, why not play this online game to check how well you know you vertebrates?

Please try to support our School Choir Coffee Morning on Wednesday.  Check out the details below.

Finally, have your say.  Each week you will have a chance to decide on which new song we will learn in next week's whole school assembly.  Click on the link below to take part in an online vote. (Note -this is carried from last week's choices.)
