Well Done to our pupil of the week who won the certificate and trophy for their dedication to learning!
Maths
This week we started by making a fraction wall, that we then used to find equivalent fractions. Following that we started to add and subtract fractions with the same denominators. Why don’t you give it a try below!
English
We started the week by inferring and deducing. This is where we read between the lines! Following that we started to look at the features of a diary entry. On Wednesday, we planned our own diary entry from a day in school, then on Thursday we wrote our diary entry. On Friday, we considered what information we would like to put into our information booklets next week.
Science
We learnt how water moves from the roots to the flower. We did this by putting red food dye into some water and watch it transport to the flower of a carnation. Check out the pictures below.
Topic
The life of a maid! We learnt about the role maids had to play in the upkeep of Haigh Hall. We then wrote a diary entry from a maid’s point of view.
Computing
Are all websites secure? We learnt how to check if a website is secure or not. This is done by looking in the URL bar. If there is a green padlock, this indicates the website is secure.
French
We simply practised all of the songs and finger rhymes we have learnt so far this year.
P.E
We continued to practice for our Sports Day (Thursday 25th May 10:00am). We hope you can make it!
Call back next week to find out what the final week has to hold!
Please try to support our School Choir Coffee Morning on Wednesday. Check out the details below.
Finally, have your say. Each week you will have a chance to decide on which new song we will learn in next week's whole school assembly. Click on the link below to take part in an online vote. (Note -this is carried from last week's choices.)
