Friday 20th April

Hello and welcome back to the last term (13 weeks) of year 5W. We hope you had a lovely Easter break and that you are ready and refreshed for some hard/enjoyable work.

It seems ages ago that we started fractions but we’ve not quite finished. This week we did addition and subtraction of fractions (some with the same denominator and some with different). We also had some fraction word problems.

Try out the interactive fraction addition game.

We carried on work on biographies reading and completing comprehensions on Usain Bolt and Ed Sheeran. We also did work on SPAG; spelling in particular.

Our Science, if you remember is all about Forces. We had to study some pictures and mark what forces were in action.

In topic we’ve been learning about Leo Houlding. He is one of Britain’s top climbers and among the best in the world. So he fits in nicely with our theme of mountains.

Pupil of the week is ... Leah Bibby

for simply being Leah! Lovely, Eager to please, Always gives her best and Hardworking! You are a pleasure to have in class.

Have a great weekend and we’ll see you next week.
