Carrying on studying Charlie and the Chocolate Factory this week; we began by describing the Oompah Loompahs (Mr Wonka’s factory workers).Thesauruses were on hand to up level our vocabulary.

We then learnt a new sentence; a Description: Detail or De:De sentence. This is a compound sentence in which two independent clauses are separated by a colon. Eg I was exhausted: I hadn’t slept for more than two days.

Science

We looked at parts of a flower in more depth this week and found out what the function of each part was.

Pupil of the Week is

Harry Rothwell for excellent listening skills and his concise explanations in class discussions. Well done!
