Maths
This week we started to look at Roman Numerals. These are used most frequently on clocks, in museums, as list numbers, in antique shops and in the media (film sequels eg Rocky III,
BBC production dates and film and TV copyright dates). The Arabic numerals we use today; now known as decimal numbers were introduced and adopted in 300AD at the fall of the Roman Empire.

Carrying on studying Charlie and the Chocolate Factory this week; we began by describing the Oompah Loompahs (Mr Wonka’s factory workers).Thesauruses were on hand to up level our vocabulary.
We then learnt a new sentence; a Description: Detail or De:De sentence. This is a compound sentence in which two independent clauses are separated by a colon. Eg I was exhausted: I hadn’t slept for more than two days.
Science
We looked at parts of a flower in more depth this week and found out what the function of each part was.
