Friday 24th November 2017

What a busy week it has been!

English.

We have been continuing our work on 'The Snail and the Whale' by Julia Donaldson. This week the whale wrote to us and asked us to make some information pages all about snails. We have found out lots of facts about snails, including the fact that they are born with a shell and their underbelly is called a 'foot.'

Maths

We have been continuing our work on addition.  We have been using our part part whole models to help us to find the missing part.  We have also been solving number word problems involving addition.

Science

We have been learning about how the changes in the weather affect the animals.  We have learnt that some animals hibernate (go to sleep for the winter) and some migrate (move to a warmer climate).  We sorted the animals into animals that hibernate and migrate.

Topic

We have been looking at Atlases and maps.  We know that the hot countries are near the Equator and the cold countries are near the North and South Pole.

Enjoy your weekend.  Lots of Gold cards have been given out this week for reading at home and our spellings scores are getting better and better each week.  Thank you for helping us at home.
