Friday 26th November

Friday 26th November 2021

Welcome to Y6F’s blog for this week. As always, we have been EXTREMELY busy this week in class.

English – We have continued reading our class novel this week, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe by CS Lewis. Currently, the children are on the run with The Beavers, Mr Tumnus has gone missing, Edmund has betrayed his siblings by going to the White Witch’s Palace, Father Christmas has been seen and spring is FINALLY arriving in Narnia!

Last week, we have had a visit from Andy Tooze, the poet from The Peaks. As you are aware, the children write their own poems after completing a poetry workshop with Andy. They have edited and written up their final copy of their poems. Here is their poetry for you to look at…

Maths – The children continued to investigate fractions. This week they have been multiplying and dividing fractions by both a whole number or another fraction...

This online game is a quick, easy and fun way to practise multiplying fractions at home…

Topic – The children have been learning about another capital city this week…Washington D.C. in the United States of America. They have created some wonderful fact files this week. Here is some of the children’s work…

All that remains to say is have a great weekend. We will see you back in school on Monday. Can you believe that it will be December next week? The days are just flying by now!
