Welcome back to the Year 4 blog. Here we are at the end of week 4 already. It's amazing how quickly time goes by when you're having fun isn't it?
This week in English we have been working at our `hot' writing task. You may remember that we were writing a `finding' story. On Monday, we planned our own, adding ideas and features to our plan that we wanted to include. Then, we set about writing our own. It's amazing how great our writing is, even after just a few weeks. We have written in paragraphs, added fronted adverbials and used expanded noun phrases.
In Maths, we have been adding and subtraction numbers that take our answers into negative numbers. To begin with we were a little nervous. But you know, they're actually pretty easy. Take this for example
5 - 9 =
We count back 5 to get us to zero, then count back the other 4 (to make the 9 steps). The answer is -4. We say this as `negative four'. We use the word minus when we are talking about temperature. Why don't you have a go at these.
