Friday 28th February

Area!

Hello and welcome to 6W's weekly blog. Here's what we have been up to this week...

In English, we have started our new class novel, Street Child, by Berlie Doherty. This is based on a true story of an orphan whose plight inspired Doctor Barnardo to set up his famous children's refuge. In writing, we have become experts on our own special pets and have begun writing guides on how to care for them.

Maths has been about area and perimeter this week. We had fun measuring the area of the MUGA and other objects and items around the classroom.

Our history this week has been looking at the influential work carried out by Lord Shaftesbury and all that he did to help poor children during the Victorian era.

A message to say thank you for coming to the SATs meeting and our workshops will begin next Thursday.

Have a good weekend and we will see you on Monday!

Love from Mrs Parry & Mrs Melling xx
