Friday 29th November

Maths

We have been solving multiplication word problems using our 3, 4, and 8 times tables. We ended the week applying our knowledge to a multiplication dice game. It was a lot of fun!

English

We learnt the story map of ‘A Stone Age Boy’. We then wrote a letter as if it was us that was in the story and we had me Om in the Stone Age.

Topic

What a fun lesson we had this week, learning all about cave art. We got to sketch our own cave art in our sketch books before recreating the art along a massive sheet of paper all down the corridor. We mixed chalk and water to make the drawings of animals and tools look authentic.

PE

We recapped our 6 counts that we created ourselves, then we added the final part of the Hakka. The scary faces were frightening!

KA MATE! KA MATE! (hit thigh)

KA ORA, KA ORA! (hit arms)

KA MATE! KA MATE! (hit thigh)

KA ORA, KA ORA! (hit arms)

TENEI TE TANGATA PU'RU-HURU (arm out and then arm up and down diagonal)

6 Beats of the drum! Improvise

... RA! UPANE! KA UPANE! (hit chest then arms up)

A UPANE! KA UPANE! (hit chest then arms up)

WHITI TE RA!

HI !
(Jump forward and shout)

Science

After a recap of how fossils are formed, we got to make some replicas using clay. It was a bit messy, but the outcome was great! They look amazing!
