Hello and welcome back to our blog this week…
In English we watched a video clip of Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory (from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) and then, using a wide range of descriptive language, we wrote out very own description of our very own Candy Land. We have seen some hugely imaginative ideas – well done!
In maths, we have been using the ‘bar method’ to calculate and solve addition and subtraction problems.
In Topic this week, we watched the film Goodnight Mr Tom in order for children to ascertain an understanding of what life might have been like for an evacuee during WW2. In Science, we have demonstrated all our understanding so far on light.
It’s been full on week once again in year 6, your children are working really hard and trying hard. Well done! It was great that we had the best attendance too which meant we were in our own clothes today – let’s hope we can do this many more times this year!
Just a reminder that it’s the trip to Tatton Park on Wednesday and to return any outstanding slips for that and also for Parent’s Evening.
Thank you for your ongoing support with reading and learning logs. It really does make a difference when children read widely.
Have a great weekend and we will see you on Monday.
Love from
Mrs Parry and Mrs Melling xx
