Welcome to this week’s blog. It has been another busy week here in Year 5F! We cannot quite believe that it will be February tomorrow! How time flies!
Maths – This week the children have been investigating perimeter of shapes. The perimeter is the measurement all the way around the outside of a shape. This website allows you to practise finding the perimeter of shapes…
English – This week the children have completed the cold task for their next Talk for Writing unit. Also, they have written a book review for their favourite book which will be going in a Year 5F ‘recommended reading’ book. We have been practising handwriting and correct letter formation this week too.
Topic – In Geography, the children have been learning about how mountains are formed and the five different types of mountains…
Then, they read a non-chronological report about mountains and answered questions about what they had read.
Science – The children have been investigating the length of each planet’s orbit around the sun as well as the distance, in kilometres, of each planet from the sun. After that, the children produced a fact-file about one of the planets, using a Chromebook to research their facts.
Here is our certificate winner for the week. He won for his work ethic and enthusiasm in every lesson. This week he has been second to none! Congratulations from everyone in Year 5.
Congratulations also to our amazing GOLD TIMES TABLE WRISTBAND winner this week, Grace! What a super star!
All that remains to say is have a wonderful weekend and we will see you again on Monday.
