Friday 31st March
Welcome to this term’s final blog from Year 5F.
This week the children have rehearsed hard for their Easter Assembly. They performed to the school on Wednesday morning for a dress rehearsal. On Thursday, we are sure you’ll agree, their performance for parents was outstanding. All the teachers were extremely proud of the children. Their speaking was loud and clear, their singing out of this world and their acting was Oscar worthy! Also, a big thank you to our IT technicians, Josh and Stuart, who made sure the accompanying slideshow ran smoothly. Here are some photos of their performance…
Before the Assembly began, the children’s Easter artwork was displayed in a PowerPoint presentation. Please take another look at their wonderful work…
And the winner is..............................Jessica with her 'Egg-cellent Exercise' design.
Maths – The children have been revising for their end of term assessments. They have all worked extremely hard and tried their best.
English – The children have been looking at the spelling rules for words with silent letters, such as wr…mb…kn. Also, they have continued to look at our class book called Tuesday by David Wiesner. The children are using the pictures to make their own book with words, telling the story of the frogs. This week they have been writing the ending to the story. The magic has ended and the frogs are now falling off their lily pads, back down to the ground. Then the story moves on to the following Tuesday. What will happen next?
Our CERTIFICATE WINNER for this week was ALL OF YEAR 5F. They won for all the effort the children put into their Easter Assembly. It paid off and it was FABULOUS! They made their teachers and families proud. They went on to be awarded the UPPER PHASE PUPIL OF THE WEEK TROPHY! So, a big well done to Year 5F and to Year 5W as well for their terrific Assembly.
A big thank you to all the parents and carers who came to Parent’s Evening on Tuesday. It was much appreciated and we really enjoyed talking to you all.
Finally, have your say. Each week you will have a chance to decide on which new song we will learn in next week's whole school assembly. Click on the link below to take part in an online vote.
All that remains to say is have a super Easter break and we will see you again after the holidays. School re-opens on Tuesday 18th April.
