Welcome back, I trust you all had a fantastic and well needed rest!
This weeks pupil of the week got their certificate for being a sirdu superstar! They stood out so much that Mr Grimshaw chose them to be the leader of the band.
Well done to our superstar readers, check them out below!
Maths
This week we have been adding and subtracting lengths! We were very good at this and Mr Fletcher was very impressed.
English
We have continued to look at the novel 'Matilda'. On Tuesday we plotted the story on a story mountain to show we can identify the main parts and summarise them. The filmakers describe Matilda as a modern day fairy tale. We looked closely at the story and compared it to other fairy tales. We found that the main reason why it was compared to a fairy tale was it has lots of contrasting characters (good characters and bad characters). We had to identify these chracters and compare them.We then planned our character description for Matilda and Miss Trunchbull.
Topic
We completed a Roman Assessment to show how much we have learnt last half term. We then thought about what we know about our new Topic (Natural Disasters).
Science
We also completed a light assessment. Then thought about what we know about Forces and Magnets.
World Book Day
We had a very enjoyable World Book Day with some fab costumes! Thank you for your continued support with these special events that will be memorable for the children for years to come.
Computing
In computing we finished our Roman Quiz using scratch. We changed the 'sprite' to a Roman soldier and the 'stage' to a background of our choice.
We have started to practice songs for our upcoming assembly. Please allow your children opportunity to practice these at home.
