Friday 3rd May 2019

What a really busy week we've had!

In English, on Monday, we received a letter from our class pencils.  We know, how strange is that?  Take a look.

We think this might be because we have been reading The Day the Crayons Quit.  It's given them ideas.  Anyway, we have been busy studying the letter, and rehearsing our Talk for Writing with it.  Today, Friday, we will try to write if for ourselves.

Take a look at our Talk for Writing -good isn't it?

In Maths also we have been busy.  We have been halving and quartering number.  We're not going to lie to you, to begin with we found this a little tricky.  But you know what?  Our teachers gave us lots of strategies to help work them out.  By the time we got to Wednesday and Thursday, not only were we halving and quartering, but we were doing in with numbers with 2 decimal places (using money).  So for example, ask us these...and see how well we do.  What is a half of £10.48?  What is a quarter of £8.64?

Why not have a go at this online active to see how well you do?  It's called it the button, and then choose `Halves'.  Do't worry -your numbers don't have to be as tricky as our -we're experts remember! Play here.

Enjoy your Bank Holiday weekend -we'll see you next week.
