Friday 6th January

Happy New Year and welcome to our first blog of 2023!

Maths - This week the children have been investigating decimal numbers. They have been ordering and comparing numbers up to three decimal places.

English - Thank you to all the children who have read and returned their Christmas holiday read, Oliver Twist. We hope you enjoyed reading this classic novel at home with your Christmas blanket over the holidays. If your child's copy is still at home can you please send it back in next week.

The children have been doing work based on Oliver Twist all this week. They have been thinking about each of the main characters. They have given ideas on what kind of traits each character is and used evidence from the book to back it up. Also, they have produced WANTED posters for Fagin, an old man in London who teaches young, homeless boys how to be pickpockets and then sells their stolen goods.

Our certificate winner this week is Evie. She won for returning to school after the break calm and enthusiastic and for simply getting on with her tasks.

We hope you have a relaxing weekend and will see you again on Monday.
