Friday 6th May

Another busy week as we enter May!

The Year 3 team hope you had a wonderful bank holiday weekend!

The children were very keen to tell us about all the exciting things they had been up to!

This weeks star pupil was Scarlett for her independent attitude inside and outside of class, her independent work is allowing her to make great progress. Keep it up!

Well done to our superstar readers, it really is paying off!

Maths

We have been re-capping on fractions. We have learnt how to find unit and non-unit fractions of amounts. Remember DDTT and you wont go wrong!

English

This week we have been testing our knowledge of reading and grammar so we know where we need to improve and then we set our own targets by looking at the results.

Computing

We learnt how search engines worked and used http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/visual-tracert/ to count hoow many hops a server makes to retrive a website for us.

Science

We started our new topic of plants and learnt about the key parts and their functions. We made some loevely booklets to show this information.

Topic

In topic this week we made pasta and shared it with our family, we have some budding chefs in our class! Later in the week we wrote a letter home to our family as we were evacuated from a natural disaster zone.

P.E

In P.E we began to train for our race for life where we have to hop, skip, run, walk or travel in any way we want around our school field to raise money for charity. Sponsors forms will be given out soon.

A letter went out on Friday about our school trip, please return the form with £3 as soon as possible to Mr Fletcher, Ms Rose or Miss Haslam.

All that's left to say is have an amazing weekend and we will see you on Monday
