Friday 8th January

Welcome back!

Year 3F hope everybody had a great Christmas and New Year! It sounds like everybody had fun.

This weeks Pupil of the Week went to Scarlett, who impressed Mr Fletcher with her perseverance in maths this week. She has worked hard this week and became a fraction queen.

Mr Fletcher would like to take this opportunity to say he is very impressed with the attitude of the children returning to school this week. The classroom has been a calm and productive working environment.

Maths

This week we have started to look at fractions. We started by looking at tenths, the children found this very easy so we moved on to working out the fractions of amounts. After that we looked at equivalent fractions.

English

In English we discussed what we had been doing over the Christmas break, we then turned this in to a recount with some fantastic paragraphs being written. We then came up with our own new years resolutions.

Science

Let there be light. We started our new Science topic this week. We thought about where light comes from and what it would be like without light.

Topic

We continued to look at prehistoric Britain. We made comparisons between the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age.

P.E

Our new focus for P.E is gymnastics. We thought of different ways animals moved and we copied some of them. We traveled along a bench as a bunny, bear, caterpillar and crab.

Make sure you come back next week to find out what next week will hold.
