 The children walked to the local shop to buy yummy ice lollies and ice cream and enjoyed eating them on the park.

 Children have been developing lots of skills pouring, filling and squirting in the sand and water area. They've had lots of fun with a range of media. Take a peak............

 Exploring new environments with the children we went to Marsh Green library to share books together.
 Becoming independent at snack times. We have been encouraging the childen to pour their own drinks and use cultery correctly.

 Matching objects that fit together - the children have been exploring fitting lids to the correct containers.

 Our main focused activities this week was sensory play with paints and filling and emptying within the water tray. Children were given the opportunity to explore a range of media to create marks and pictures and develop hand eye co-ordination through play with water.

 Children show curiosity, explore and show their own interests when a variety of resources are accessible to them. Children freely engage within the continuous provision.

 Our focused activity this week was exploring resources to show awareness of what a potty might be used for. The children explored using the dolls imaginatively showing their knowledge of what items are used for.

Christmas 2019

 Its Christmas!!!!!!!

ho, ho , ho Santa Claus is coming to town!!!

 

 During snack time this week we have been supporting and encouraging children to develop independence with food routines by pouring their own drinks and using a spoon to feed themselves. We have also been learning how to use and operate the remote control cars and lots of other exciting things take a peak............

 

 Our focused activity this week was posting our letters that we made to Father Christmas by going to the post office. Check your post for a reply from Santa over the next couple of weeks.

 Another busy week in the Sunflower Room- we have been raising money for Children in Need coming to nursery in our pjs and making yummy cakes. We have also been visiting the library at Marsh Green, exploring the Alps and lots more. Take a peak......................

The centre raised a fantastic £152.01. Whoop! Whoop!

We decorated pudsey pictures using crayons and finger paints, and made yummy cakes for Children in Need. cheeky

 

Our focused activity this week was sensory exploration with paints using our whole bodies, hands and feet to refine our fine and gross motor skills.  This was a super messy but fun and children who have been reluctant to explore with paints before experimented and explored. 

 

 Well done to our super toddlers who have been given the Star of the Day no no

Korede, Cooper, Joseph, Charlie, Maddison and Lily.

 

The children have been super busy this week riding on the bus and learning about remembrance day.

They have also been exploring the learning environment indoors and outdoors take a look.............

 Children exploring a jack in the box was a big hit within the room this week.

We have also been supporting children at meal times- to use cultery correctly i.e drink using a cup without a lid without much spilling. Continue to encourage children at home with food routines.

One of our focused activites this week was for the children to go on the bus to visit the War Memorial in Wigan. The children took their poppies to lay on the grounds to show our respect for all the fallen soldiers for Remembrance day heart heart

 The children decorated poppies using paints, crayons and media.

 

The children have been supported to help with dressing routines, we encouraged them to practice putting on their own shoes and coats while supporting them with fastenings. Great effort , well done !! no

 

 This week we celebrated Halloween we had a fab party day on Wednesday, all the children looked spooktacular. devil devil

We're Going On a Bear Hunt - the children loved exploring on the Alps to find the bear from the story book. Take a peak.......

 

One of our learning activities this week was matching parts of objects that fit together, the children tried really hard to find the correct lids to the containers provided. Well Done!!!

 

Autumn is here and we have been very busy out and about around the environment and on the Alps within school grounds exploring and collecting autumn leaves to make collages by sticking, gluing, and painting. Take a peak at the children's art work..........

 This week we have been exploring sensory trays which was very messy but fun.  Children continue to enjoy snack by using a spoon to feed themselves and a cup without a lid.

We have also been developng our physical skills at the park and they really enjoyed baking and eating yummy cakes.

  We continue to be very busy in the sunflower room the children have enjoyed going to the hall expressing themselves through physical activities, they also have been looking at and holding Shelly and Sherbet the Giant African land Snails from pre-school and lots of other exciting things. Our focused activity this week the children have been exploring water play filling and emptying with cups, jugs, and containers. They have shown good control in using jugs to pour, take a look......

 

The children continue to florish and have really adapted to the Sunflower Room, they are growing in confidence each week. Have a look at what exciting things we have been doing....

 

 Our planned activity this week the children have been exploring finding pictures of staff and other children in different media- foam, sand, and angel delight. We prompted the children to find and name children and staff who they recognised, developing speech and using single words.

 We introduced the children to the local park, they have been practising their climbing skills. High five everyone!!

 

 A warm welcome to the Sunflower Room, we have had a busy couple of weeks settling in nicley into the nursery routine and making good relationships with staff and other children.
