What a super busy week!
This week we have continued to explore Autumn and joined in activities for Halloween.
We have visited the ALP’s again, searching for Autumn objects to use in class.
We have been carving our pumpkin to make a spooky face.
We used a large spoon to take out the seeds from the middle, observing the smell, texture, touch and what we could see inside the pumpkin.
Ruth then carved a spooky face.
We then used cut out facial features to make our own spooky pumpkins.
On a Tuesday afternoon and a Thursday morning, the children go the school hall for PE. The children don’t need a PE kit for this but we do encourage their self help skills when taking off and putting back on their socks and shoes. This is something you could practice at home.
This week, we played ready, steady go games to encourage the children’s listening and attention skills. We then used a ball and worked in pairs to practice throwing, catching and rolling the ball to each other.
Mmmmmmm yummy chocolate apples - we melted and stirred the chocolate and dipped our apples in then covered them with coloured sprinkles to make a delicious chocolate apple, to take home to eat.
In our Autumn bags, some of the children had collected conkers. We used these to make different patterns in the paint, manoeuvring the tray to roll the conker around. We made some beautiful patterns which will be displayed in our classroom.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
