Happy big 4 birthday 🥳🥳

The children really enjoyed joining in with making super slime!
We introduced new vocabulary throughout, using words such as, stretch, sticky, poke, squeeze, squash, pull. The children made choices of what glitter they wanted to add and took turns with their friends in stirring the mixture.

Look at our fantastic entries for the Design an Easter egg competition. What a fantastic effort by you all. It was so hard to choose one winner that we chose lots who all won an Easter prize.

We have one entry though and we don’t know who it belongs too? It was handed in on a Friday morning to a member of staff but we can’t remember who gave it in. It is the egg template with a flap top added and a handprint underneath. Is this your child’s? Please let us know.

We used cotton wool clipped to a wooden peg to make a beautiful painting. This activity is great for strengthening our finger muscles when gripping the peg. We talked about the colours we used and what happened when the colours mixed together. We used our thinking skills to give meanings to the marks we painted.

Using our fine motor muscles, we carefully used scissors and small knives to chop, slice and snip vegetables and herbs. The children were encouraged to smell and feel the textures and talk about what they smell and feel. We talked about using tools safely and how to hold them to increase control when using them.
