wc 14.2.22

Welcome back, we can't believe this half term is almost over already! What a busy few weeks we have had in Year 3.

This week we have been scientists investigating gravity and forces - in particular friction. We wanted to find out whether the type of surface a car travelled on would effect how far it travelled because of the friction. We got some ramps with lots of different surfaces on, a car and a big roll of paper as our road and set out to find the answer. We decided we would have to make sure it was a fair test - just the same as real life scientists do - by keeping the car and height of the ramp the same and this is what we found...

that the smooth plastic surface had the least friction because the car travelled the furthest...over 3 metres!

Well, that's all for this week, and this half term! We hope everyone has a lovely restful half term and is ready to return for some more hard work and fun on 28th February.

See you all soon

Love from Mrs Hannon, Mrs Mason

and all of Y3F x x
