Week 1
Welcome Back!
Congratulations to Harley and Mikiee who won the achievement award this week for working well as a team in PE. They showed everybody how to work together and improved their own skills.
Also a big well done to Ava, Alfie E, Anureet, Jessica and Noah who have raced around yet another lap! I wonder who it will be next week?
English
We have started to look at our new book, Chalk, this week. It is a special book because it tells a story without words! We had our own bag of magic chalk and drew our own adventures, have a look at our drawing below. We will be writing a story about our adventure next week.
Maths
In maths this week, our focus has been halving and doubling. We have introduced the division symbol and had a go at writing our own division number sentences. We need to know doubles and halves of numbers to twenty for the end of the year.
This week's homework will be given out on Monday, and you will have until the following Monday to complete it.
Science
We have begun to learn about plants in science. We have planted some seeds, keeps your fingers crossed that they start to grow!
Topic
Our new topic this term is Farmer, Farmer. We will be finding out where food comes from, having a picnic and going on a trip to a farm. Letters went home tonight telling you about this. Please ensure the permission slip is returned to school no later than the 7th March. Please note, your child will be unable to attend the trip if this slip is not returned.
Don't forget, Friday night is head check night!!
