Week 1
The Princess and the frog 🐸
Our text of the week this week was Princess and the frog. We talked about the structure of the story, that fairy tales begin with ‘Once upon a time’ and end with ‘Happily ever after’
The children dicussed about keeping promises and how to be a good friend. In the story the princess broke her promise to the frog and wasn’t a very good friend.
The children did a piece of writing and talked about what happened in the beginning, middle and the end of the story. The children are developing their handwriting, by using recognisable letters, fingers spaces and full stops.
The children’s writing challenge this week was to write a sentence and describe how they are a good friend.
The children learned about speech bubbles and thought about the different speech that the characters in the story used to each other.
