Welcome Back!
Congratulations this week to Tamsin for receiving the achievement award for being really brave after her bump on the head!
We have has such a busy week this week, it has flown by!
English
This week we have been working on performing poetry. We read lots of poems and performed them in front of each other, then today we have performed a poem to the whole class. Most videos have uploaded, I can't get the whole class performance up just yet - I will ask for help next week and hopefully we can get it on soon. We will continue to look at poetry next week, writing and performing our own poems.
Maths
This week we have again been concentrating on place value as it is really important for the future that we develop a good understanding of our number system. We have used dienes to make 2-digit numbers and found 1 or 10 more or less. We need to be very secure in this before the end of the year. We will continue to develop our place value knowledge next week before moving onto addition and subtraction in the coming weeks. Please do encourage children to play addition/subtraction/counting games/apps at home. If anyone would like recommendations, please ask us. Similarly if you have any recommendations please let us know about them.
Topic
We have introduced our new topic, People Who Help Us today. We have been thinking about different people who help us in our local community, then we began to think about what we would like to be when we grow up. We had lots of different answers so far, including: paramedics, doctors and dentists. You will be able to see some of these on display very shortly.
Science
Our science topic this term is animals including humans. So we have began to look at different parts of our bodies and enjoyed playing Simon Says and singing head, shoulders, knees and toes. Why not have a go at the game on the blog! Click the link to play.
Enjoy your weekend, get lots of rest.
Lots of love,
Miss Rose, Mrs Duckworth & Mrs Stirrup
