Hello again!
This week we have been learning all about 'The Singing Mermaid'.
This is a book written by Julia Donaldson about a mermaid who loves to sing. She goes to the curcus for what she thinks will be a great opportunity but it isn't!
This book is available to buy in ASDA in the 2 for £7 range....the children loved it!
We made playdough mermaids, using our existing barbies. The children had to make mermaid tails for them!
We thought about the animals that live under the sea (we know that mermaids are not REALLY real but we like to think they are! We drew pictures of these animals and labelled them at the writing table
We also made designs on mermaid tails, creating repeating patterns or simply stripy and spotty patterns.
We absolutely love the new addition to the provision- our beach area. We have been taking turns using the equipment and using our ever growing speaking skills to talk about our experiences of the beach.
Next week we will be learning all about 'Barry the Fish with Fingers'.
See you next time
