Week ending 10th May 2019

Welcome back to our class blog. We hope that you had a lovely weekend. So, what are we learning about this week? It is our third week of our Monster Maths focus and we have had another wonderful week full of learning opportunities. Let's take a look ..........
We started the week off by making our own number sentences using mini monsters. We created addition and subtraction number sentences and shared them with our friends. This is a simple way of supporting the children in their number recognition, an opportunity to give them an awareness of the skills needed to be able to add and subtract numbers. Well done everyone.
We have been busy transferring our number skills into different contexts. We have been looking at different places we can see both numbers and letters. Here we are investigating the numbers in our shoes and what they mean. We have also discovered that some of our shoes have speech bubbles and words inside. Wow
We have been developing our computer skills this week and using the paint programme we created images of monsters. We then printed them off and learned about how the printer works and then created labels to name our monsters. These are now on display in the classroom so please come and take a look.
We have also been thinking about structures this week and looked at various structures from around the world. We created models and talked about different ways we could make them stronger and how we could incorporate structures together.

Have a lovely weekend and see you all next week for another fun filled week of learning
