Week ending 14th December 2018

Hi and welcome back to our class blog. This week we have been busy putting the finishing touches to our class nativity. However, we have still been busy learning using the text the Stickman. Let's have a look at what we have been doing.
We have used the family tree and added numbers to it to create a Christmas tree. We have then been developing our skills counting forwards and counting backwards to put the branches in the correct order. This is a really simple and yet effective way of helping the children with their numbers, try it when walking up and down stairs at home smiley
We also continue to develop our fine motor skills as we do on a daily basis. We have been wrapping pipe cleaners around candy canes and adding detail to create Reindeers. This required a lot of patience and co-ordination but we won't give up.
We have explored mark making on a large scale this week and we have loved it. This gives us the space and freedom to make marks and develop our writing skills. Take a look at our creative work.
We have also explored making patterns using resources in the environment. It's a skill to be able to find objects and create repeating patterns. Well done everyone.
And here it is. The picture you have all been waiting to see. Our Nativity. We are so very proud of the children and all the hard work and effort they put into making our show as amazing as it was. Well done to each and everyone of you. We think you're amazing smiley
And finally. Reception party is on Wednesday next week and children are welcome to come to school in their party clothes. Have a good weekend. Staff and children in Reception W
