Hello and welcome back to our class blog. This week we have been using the story of The Gingerbread Man as the focus for our learning. What a wonderful week of learning it has been as well! Let's have a little look through this weeks action.....
We thought carefully about the characters from the story and we used paint to create them. We have added these to our class display and they look amazing. The attention to detail is great
We have also explored Hot Seating. We pretended to be a different person and took on the role of a character from the story. It was tricky but we improved greatly very quickly. We answered questions from our friends and talked about why the characters did certain things. We can't wait to explore this every week using different characters.
We continue to develop areas of the classroom and we found through discussion that the lego and construction area was very popular in class. We have explored this and extended this further by creating a lego station. Here we plan, discuss, build and improve the models we make. A great learning tool
As always, we took our learning outside. We used chalks and pastels to explore texture and form and created Gingerbread Figures. We then took lengths of string and went outside to measure them. We used language such as longer than, shorter than. Amazing work
Next week we will be using the story of Jack and the Beanstalk as the focus for our learning. Why not see if you have this book at home and have a little read together in preparation?
Remember it is reading book and loan library day on Monday
Have a great weekend and see you then
