week ending 14th July 2023

Hello. Our time together in Reception is coming to an end and what an amazing and fun time we have had together. As always, this week has been non stop fun and learning. Let's take a little look......

This week we have been using the text Charlie Cooks favourite Book. We have explored the story from beginning to end and looked at similarities and differences in the text. We have fine tuned our observational skills this week as well as we hunt for the hidden Gruffalo images smiley

This week we have focused a lot of Maths. We have been exploring number, time and subitising in lots of different practical and hands on contexts. Here are we with some of our learning smiley

We have also been very busy learning the facts about subitising by watching and interacting with a programme on the Internet. This is a great way of getting the children up out of their seats and being immersed in numbers. Try it at home. Here is the link we used

This week in our creative area we have been exploring texture. We have been working collectively on large sheets of paper with different textures to create art work. This was particularly good for creating rainbows smiley

We have also been showcasing our maths skills in continuous provision. Here we are applying, sharing and celebrating all of the learning we have gathered during our time in Reception yes

We have also been developing our writing skills liked to Charlie Cook. We drew characters and added labels to them. Take a little look at our independent, amazing writing smiley

Have an amazing weekend and we look forward to welcoming you back into class for our final week together. Mrs Evans and the team smiley
