Week ending 15th October

Hello,

Welcome back to our class blog. This week we have been reading the text 'A new home for a pirate'. We loved this story and we have completed so many lovely activities.

In maths this week we have loved exploring numbers using our treasure chest. We added gold coins and a treasure chest to our maths table and our job was to find the matching number. We took it in turns and worked with our friends. It was lovely!

We have loved playing with Jed's pirate ship from our story. Each da we added a new element to our tray. Until we were able to recreate the whole story. We loved adding the magnets so we could make Jed a new home.

We have been practising our cutting skills. We added pirates to the create table and we worked hard to cut around the pirate and stuck them back together. We were so proud of our work!

We have been so busy in our class this week. We have made treasure maps and a new advert for Jeds new house. We have also been making our own dictionary. We have been looking through our story to find any words that we haven't heard of before. We then used the dictionary and the internet to find out the meaning of words.

We have had another busy week in school! Next week we are learning all about Autumn and we have so many more lovely activities planned.

Have a lovely weekend,

Reception F
