week ending 18th January 2019

Hello and welcome back to our blog. This week we have been using the text Goldilocks and the 3 bears as the focus for our learning. We have taken part in so many different learning challenges this week, we have been very very busy and productive.
We started the week off by listening to out text of the week. We split up into 3 different groups every week and focus on different tasks linked to the story. We started off by drawing our favourite character from the story. We created a bar chart and then spent some time interpreting the information. We talked about the most popular character, the least popular character and by how many more one was more popular than the other. Great for developing our problem solving skills.
One of our CP challenges was to create a textured bear using tools and techniques. We tested out lots of different ideas to see which created a furry texture best. Very interesting
We also thought about what Goldilocks might say to the 3 bears to make them feel better. Our writing is really coming on and the staff are very proud with the children's efforts. Remember, you can help at home by continuing to practice your Read Write Inc letters and green words. Thank you smiley
We also had a great time out on the ALPS creating houses of sticks, bricks and straw to protect the little pigs. Take a look at our creations.
Next week we will be using the text The 3 Billy Goats Gruff as our text of the week. Have a great weekend. Staff and children in Reception W
