Hello and welcome back to this weeks class blog. After a rather wet start to the week we have finished it in glorious sunshine. Let's take a look at this weeks learning
We started the week off by involving the children in updating our Julia Donaldson collection in our class library. The children are amazed every time a new book appears and she really is an author that has captured the children's imagination and creativity
We have also explored creating drawings about the character Superworm - see if they can tell you the repetitive refrains - super worm is super strong, super worm is super long what him wiggle, watch him squirm hip hip hooray for superworm! The children have loved joining in with this at story time
We have also been busy this week working on developing our independent writing. Here we are drawing, labelling and writing lists about our Superworm superhero
We have also been looking at movement and music in PE. There are so many different ways we can move using our different body parts. Music makes us feel, react and move in different ways. Why not have a go at this at the weekend - can you move like a worm? can you leap like a frog?
This week we have also celebrated a birthday
This week we have revisited some of the lovely texts we have enjoyed previously this term. It has been amazing what the children have actually remembered - here we are using our detective skills to hunt down hidden images of the Gruffalo
In Maths this week we have been learning all about Doubles and Number Bonds. The children have worked really hard to identify and talk about the patterns they can see when working with numbers. Here are some of the songs that we have been singing this week to help us learn our number facts - https://www.google.com/search?q=double+songs+for+children&oq=double+songs+for+children&aqs=chrome..69i57.6362j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:ad1bbaaf,vid:8jOzhiACB68
and
The children have loved listening to these and they have really helped us to remember our double facts
Next week we will be using the text Room On A Broom. Here is the link to the story should you like to listen to it over the weekend https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHxGe44wSCI
Have a wonderful weekend
