Hello and a warm welcome back to our class blog. This week started off in the best possible way EVER. The circus came to Westfield. What an amazing experience for the children. The smiles on their faces was priceless! We really are so very lucky. Let's have a look at our circus skills in action ......

For the rest of the week we have been using the text of Tiddler to help us with our learning. This is a lovely text all about a little fish who was always late for school. We have explored all manner of learning this week. 

We have been looking at a world map to help us identify where different oceans are in the effort to help children develop their understanding of changes in climates and environments. It was lovely to hear the discussions they engaged in as they shared their learning  

We have been exploring challenges linked to Tiddler and counting in our continuous provision.  We have been working together to solve problems and to help us talk about our learning and to share it with others. A super important skill we want to promote 

We continue to add to and update our sticky learning book on a weekly basis. The children love to look back through it and talk about all the things we have achieved in Reception. It's great for developing language, memory and conversation 

And finally. We have been thinking about Maths and what it is. Maths is a word we use a lot in the classroom but we wanted to unpick what the children actually thought it was about. We were amazed with the ideas generated in the discussions. Take a little look at some of the suggestions. These are all things we have been learning about during our year in Reception 

Next week is our final week of Julia Donaldson and we have saved one of the children's favourites till last. Room on the Broom. Have a little look over the weekend with your grown up! This has endless opportunities for rhyming, prediction and of course a lot of fun.
