week ending 4th December 2020

Hello and welcome back to our class blog. This week I ma sure that you know we are using the text Stickman to help us with our learning. Let's have a little peek at our learning
We have been thinking about adding two group together and using this to create number sentences. This was a lovely activity and its so very pleasing to hear the children using the correct vocabulary to read aloud their number sentences. This is just one example of our work smiley
We have also bene busy thinking about different ways of creating the stickman. We used pipe cleaners and twisted them to create his arms and legs. Very creative indeed
We also explored number order and the sequence of numbers. We ordered them and answered questions such as what's one more than 2, what's one less than 5. This is something that can be down at home with very little resources. Remember, if you count forwards to always count backwards yes
We also had a challenge to undertake. We had to use lollipop sticks to make letter sounds that we found in the classroom environment. We are trying to encourage the children to look around them and take notice of letters and words that they can see. Here are 2 of the many examples we observed.
As always, we have explored our number of the week. Take a look at this wonderful example of independent work. We have explored and looked at number bonds and patterns using numbers. Seeing this makes me very proud smiley

Next week we will be thinking about Winter. We will be discussing and describing the changing seasons and what happens. We have some lovely ideas planned and I am sure that the children will enjoy the learning we have planned.

Have a great weekend
