week ending 5th November

Hello and welcome back to our class blog. This week we have been using the text Jacob O'Reilly wants a pet. What a wonderful story about a little boy who wanted the most obscure pets - pets that really wouldn't fit into a house! Have a little listen to the story by clicking on the link at the end of the blog smiley

We researched some of the animals in the story and looked around for collage materials, boxes and other bits and pieces to help us make 3D models of animals. Take a look at the amazing work we produced smiley

In addition to our models we selected one animal and described it. This work just shows the hard work and dedication of the children and truly shows that practise does make perfect. Our writing skills are really coming on a treat. Keep up the good work at home everyone

We were also very lucky to find these unusual objects in one of the children's Autumn bags. We read a story linked to them and the little girl who kindly brought them in told us what they are. Why not ask your child to see if they remember?

We have also been busy learning about our number of the week. We have been looking at different ways to record numbers using time, dots, words and tally charts. Here we are perfecting our new skills. Amazing work I am sure you will agree

Next week we obviously have our trip to look forward to. We are very excited about it and hope that the weather is kind to us smiley
