week ending 6th March 2020

Welcome back to our class blog. This week we have been using the text Supertato as the focus for our learning. Let's take a little look at what we have been doing this week.
We read the story and then set about creating our own versions of Supertato.  We designed, cut and attached different materials to make our models. Each one is different and unique just as we are smiley
We have been thinking about initial letter sounds this week. We have found different ways to record these sounds. Here we are using pegs and boards. Very creative yes
We have also been tasting some of the vegetables from the story. We talked about our favourite, least favourite and made a tally chart of our preferences.
We have been continuing to develop our handwriting skills. We have written speech bubbles documenting what we thought some of the vegetables might say. Take a look at our writing. It's really impressive
We have been using the text Supertato to help us develop our reading skills. We have been reading and sorting words that we can Fred and words that cannot be segmented - our red words. The children were wonderful. They are able to identify special friends and Fred talk and read. Keep up with the practise at home it is really paying off smiley
And finally, our performance. The children were an absolute credit to us as teachers and the school. They were well behaved as always, sang with such gusto and enthusiasm. A wonderful time was had by all. Thank you for your continued support parents it really does make all of the difference.

Have a great weekend.
