Week ending Friday 16th October

Hello, Welcome back to our class blog. This week we have been learning all about Autumn. We have loved finding out information from the internet and books and we have learnt so much.

We have found out that lots of leaves change colour in Autumn and so we have coloured our own using pastels. We then practiced using scissors to cut out our leaf. Using scissors is a really hard skill so it would be fantastic to practice using these at home.

We have collected lots of leaves and pinecones this week and we have been exploring what we could make. It has been a great way to use our imagination and we have created some amazing art.
We have loved learning about numbers this week in maths. We have been practicing them on our whiteboard and have been using sticks to create them. This has been a great way to learn number formation and there are lots of rhymes we know to remember how to write them. I'm sure the children would love to share these at home.
We finished the week taking our Read Write Inc. lesson outside. Using chalk on the floor is a great way to develop our muscle strength and it is always good to practice writing our sounds. We have been learning a sound a day in RWI and we love practicing writing them as much as we can.
We have had another fantastic week. Next week we will be reading Superworm by Julia Donaldson.

Reminders,

- Please can we only have reading bags in on a Wednesday and we then will give them back out on Friday. Please can you sign their reading diaries after you have read their books at home. This is a fantastic way for us to see how they are finding it - Thank you

Have a great weekend,
