Week ending Friday 18th October

Hello, Welcome back to our class blog. This week our text of the week is The Gruffalo. We have absolutely loved this story and we have loved learning about the characters.

We have loved being creative this week. We have painted our own Gruffalo characters with purple prickles, orange eyes and even the green poisonous wart on his nose.

This week we wanted to use cubes to measure objects and put objects in size order. We found Gruffalo footprints so carefully used cubes to find out which was the longest and which was the shortest - we then had to put them in order. We loved this activity.
We talked a lot this week about our story setting. We thought about what things we could find in the wood and we then worked together to create The Gruffalo using these things. This was a great team activity where we shared ideas and took it in turns to talk about our ideas.

We've been very busy this week and we have loved The Gruffalo. Next week we are going to focus on the changing seasons and we are going to learn all about Autumn.

Class reminders

- Reading bags only need to be in school on Wednesday and we will return them on Friday. Please make sure you sign their reading diaries when you read at home. This is so important as it not only tells us whether the book has been read but also lets us know how they have found the book - it is a great help.

Have a great weekend,

Reception F
