Friday 12th May 2017

Welcome back after another busy week in Y1WF!

This week we have started to read a new book called 'The Detective Dog'. It is about a dog called Nell with a great sense of smell who helps find some stolen books.

We had lots of fun around school pretending to search for the missing books. We went over to the ALPS, the playground, the kitchen and even the library. We worked on a fantastic piece of independent writing this morning retelling our adventures. Mrs Hannon was very proud of us all!

In Maths we have been learning about fractions of amounts, turns, lengths and capacity - all very tricky stuff! We did lots of practical work to help us understand and by the end of the week we were finding it easy!

In Topic we have been thinking about people who help us and what we would like to be when we grow up. We had lots of fun dressing up and thinking of questions we would like to ask them.

Well, that's all for this week, thank you for reading and we will see you again next week for more fun and learning.

Lots of love,

Mrs Hannon, Miss Wallace, Miss Gray

and all of Y1WF

Finally, have your say.  Each week you will have a chance to decide on which new song we will learn in next week's whole school assembly.  Click on the link below to take part in an online vote. (Note -this is carried from last week's choices.)
