During outdoor play we have been using the climbing frame to develop our gross motor skills. We used the net ladder to climb up and slide down the pole, we carefully climbed to the top of the climbing frame using alternative feet on the bars. We jumped off the platform landing on two feet and used our whole body to swing around the bars.
We have collected lots of Autumnal objects on walks around the local environment as well as all the wonderful objects collected in our Autumn bags at home. We have been using the coloured leaves, conkers, acorns, pine cones and seedlings in our classroom, investigating them and discussing what we have found.
We have used the conkers to make some super patterns in the paint by rolling the conkers around and we made a large Autumn collage using the other objects.
Brilliant work everyone!
We have been using different tools to develop our fine motor skills and hand-eye co-ordination. We used blocks and wooden hammers to hammer the tees into the pumpkins and knives to chop and slice the broccoli and carrots. Using these tools is brilliant for strengthening the muscles in our wrists, hands and fingers, these are the muscles we need to become writers in the future.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
