Kung hei fat choy.
This week we have been celebrating Chinese New Year.
We have been taking part in a range of activities and have been learning about the Chinese Zodiac animals. We watched a video of the animals racing and talked with our peers as to which animal we thought would win the race. We cheered for our favourite animal and the winner was the Rat.........he did cheat though.
We used our super scissor skills to make a mask of one of the animals.
We also watched videos of the Chinese dragon dancing and then used bright colours to make our own big Dragon. We used our Dragon to do Dragon dancing during outdoor play.
At snack time, throughout the week we have been tasting Chinese food.
We loved the prawn crackers the most! We tasted noodles, sweet and sour sauce, rice and crackers. Do you know?.......in China they use Chopsticks to eat their food, we had a go when picking up crispy hoops, it was very tricky!
This week we have also introduced the children to the Interactive board.
The children have been super good at listening to and following the rules when using the board.
* Only use one finger to press the screen.
* Use your listening ears to listen to the instructions of the game.
* Sit behind the white line when waiting for your turn.
* Take turns with your friends.
* Try your best and have fun!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
