Week ending 6th November.

This week we have been talking about Bonfire safety.
We watched firework displays on the big board and talked about the different sounds we could hear, the colours we could see and the different patterns the fireworks made. We talked about how to use a sparkler safety. Using different resources we created our own firework pictures and explored different textures to make our own super rocket.

We used chocolate, breadsticks and sprinkles to make our own edible sparkler.

This week we have started the Teeth brushing scheme.

We have been taking part in the healthy smiles scheme for a number of years and originally piloted the scheme for Wigan.

In Wigan the fluoride in the water is low so the scheme was introduced to help encourage healthy teeth. Is your child registered at a dentist? If not, please try to register them as check ups are very important.

Teeth brushing will be done with the children everyday at the end of their pre-school day. Using a dry toothbrush and a pea sized blob of toothpaste, we brush our teeth whilst listening to Blippi for 2 minutes. Ask the children to show you their pearly white teeth!
