Hello to our year 4 blog of the week. Wow, what I feel like we have not stopped this week! The children have worked so hard in all areas of their work.
In writing, the children have finished their amazing setting descriptions about Boneroot, which is a fictional place in our story Podkin One Ear. They included metaphors, similes, personification to wow me with their work.
In maths, the children have been working on multiplying 2 and 3 digits number by 1 digit numbers, we even did this with carrying. We then moved on to dividing 2 digit numbers by 1 using the long and short method and then moved on to do this with remainders.
In reading, we have spent the week looking at the book Henrys Freedom Box. This is about a boy called Henry who is a slave in America and has an amazing and brave idea to mail himself to Philadelphia where he will be free. You can re-read the book by clicking the link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6rf9bxDK1o
In science, we recorded our findings of our 'eggsperiment'. We have kept eggs in 3 different types of liquid over the week (vinegar, water and cola). This was to show the results of different types of liquids have on our teeth. Can you guess which one shocked us the most?!
Have a lovely weekend and see you on Monday morning.
