Friday 3rd October
This week has been our Art week and we have been looking at the artist Theodore Major. He was an artist from Wigan who used charcoal to depict images of Wigan.
The children started the week exploring different materials - pencil, chalk, oil pastels, charcoal etc. Then they explored tone and the pressure you apply when shading. Following that the children were shown a picture of a factory and we practiced our sketching skills and picking out the shapes we could see.
We will continue working on our art block work into next week.
