Hello and welcome back to year 4's first blog of the half term!

Well haven't we got straight back into it with such a busy learning week.

In maths, the children started the week by adding 1, 10, 100 and 1000 onto any given 4 digit number. Sounds tricky I know! Have a go at the link and test your knowledge at home. https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zw267yc

In writing, we have started our new Talk for Writing unit which is about Character descriptions. We have been using our class novel Perijee and Me to do work around the two main characters. At the end of the week, we have looked at similes. This is where you compare one thing to another using as or like. Have a go at the game below. https://wordwall.net/resource/9803718/complete-the-simile

In History, we have looked at the importance that the River Nile played for the Ancient Egyptians. We know that if it wasn't for the river, then this civilisations wouldn't have survived.

Next weeks spellings are words that contain sc

scientist

scene

science

scent

scissors

fascinate

ascend

descend

Hope you all have a lovely weekend and hopefully going to see some fireworks. Please keep safe and I will see you on Monday.
